Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a refuse collecting system, in which refuse put into the system from dust chutes is transported and collected by the combined use of pneumatic transport means and mechanical transport means, whereby it is enabled to collect refuse in reliable manner, while preventing occurrence of bad odor and loading in the transport pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Refuse is put into dust chutes 3 from inlet 4 equipped in respective residence. Shutter 5 is opened by the refuse put into the dust chute 3, so that refuse is carried into branch pipe 7. When suction means 20 is subsequently set into operation, open air is drawn into the system from opening 22, and air flow toward separating means 19 is developed in transport pipe 6. Further, screw 14 is driven with operation of driving means 15. Thus, refuse in branch pipe 7 is carried into main pipe 9 by means of helical screw 14, and refuse in the main pipe 9 is then carried into separating means 19 by the function of air flow and screw 14. In the separating means 19, refuse and carrier air are separated from each other. Refuse is carried into compactor 16, whereas air is released to the atmosphere through deodorizing means 21.
