Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a miniaturized optical fiber leading part with high pressure resistance and high airtightness by filling adhesive between the inner surface of taper-like optical fiber leading hole of a metallic sleeve and the clad periphery of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A clad part 6 is exposed by removing the covering of an optical fiber 3 and inserted into a leading hole 7a having tapered and straight parts of a metallic sleeve 7 and a space between the metallic sleeve 7 and the clad part 6 is filled with adhesive 8. A metallic film 9 is vapor-deposited on the exposed clad part 6, the adhesive 8 and the edge surface of the metallic sleeve 7 in the sea side. For the purpose of reinforcement, a metallic sleeve is screwed in the metallic sleeve 7 and adhesive is made charged into the inside of the metallic sleeve 10 to fix also the part of the covered optical fiber 3. The metallic sleeve 7 is airtightly fixed through a pressure resisting cap 14 fixing a protection pipe 12 and through ''O'' rings. Thus, the leading part of the optical fiber is miniaturized and pressure resisting strength and airtight property and improved.
