Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize the sharp acceleration of an internal combustion engine in a wide range of load upon it, by executing control to increase the quantity of injected fuel when the rate of time change in the opening degree of the throttle valve is higher than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A throttle valve 3 and a fuel injection valve 4 are provided in the intake passage 2 of a spark-ignited internal combustion engine 1. The opening degree of the throttle valve 3 is found out by a detector 5. The rotational frequency of the engine 1 is found out by another detector 6. A processing unit 7 controls the fuel injection valve 4 on a basis of the outputs of the detectors 5, 6. When the change rate in the opening degree of the throttle valve 3 with the time lapse is higher than a prescribed value, the processing unit 7 acts so that more fewel than a normal quantity dependent upon the rotational frequency and the load upon the engine 1 is injected. For that reason, sharp acceleration is possible in a wide range of load upon the internal combustion engine 1.
