Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent surface reflection at the face of a cathode ray tube by forming a reflection preventive device through provision of opaque electron beam hardened films in the form of parallel line on the base plate which is transparent. CONSTITUTION:Over the surface of a transparent base plate 2 made of glass or plastics such as polyethilene, an opaque electron beam hardened film 31 of unsaturated polyester etc. is coated, to which electron beams EB in the form of intermittent curtain cast from an electron beam accelerator 5 is irradiated, while being moved onto the plastic layer 31, to form a hardened resin 32 and unhardened resin 33 in a stripe. Thereafter the unhardened resin 33 is torn away to form a reflection preventive device. According to this arrangement, the stripe, convex formed, can be made accurately and easily, and provision of it on the face of a cathode ray tube assures good images through prevention of surface reflection at the face of cathode ray tube.
