Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable prevention of short-circuit and imperfection of voltage resistance even when a wire having a small diameter and small mechanical strength is used, by shaping the loop of the wire in a resin coating process. CONSTITUTION:In a manufacturing method for a semiconductor device wherein semiconductor pellets 2 mounted on a heat-radiating plate 1 and free end parts 3a and 3c of a lead of a lead frame are connected by a wire 4 and then are coated with a resin material 5, the wire 4 connecting the pellets to the leads 3a and 3c is shaped in a resin coating process. Concretely, a lead frame to be coated with resin is set on a positioning jig 14, and while it is held by a holding plate 13(13a, 13b), a pressing body 15 is raised up to a position shown by a dotted line in the figure and then lowered again by operating an air cylinder 17. By this constitution, the loop of the wire 4 is shaped, and is coated with resin immediately in the following process.
