Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve the safe operation by coupling the control piping through the reducing valve and the automatic valve to the upper cover while coupling the branch water passed through the reducing valve through the automatic valve to the back pressure chamber of the runner. CONSTITUTION:The control piping of the casing 4 is connected while being branched into the upper cover 5 covering the upper section of the flow path 7 and the upper section of the runner back pressure chamber 11. Under the steady state operation, the pressure P1 in the flow path 7 between the guide vane 3 and the runner 2 is higher than the pressure P2 in the suction pipe 8 thereby the force functioning on the runner 2 will be in the direction of the gravity thus to cause no floating. But when the vane 3 is closed abruptly the water in the flow path 7 is sucked by the suction pipe 8 to lower the pressure, thereby the force in the opposite direction from the gravity will function to produce the floating. Since P2>P1 at this time, if the automatic valve 15 is opened to feed the high pressure water in the casing 4 through the reducing valve 14 into the runner back pressure chamber 11, the relation P1>P2 will be recovered to prevent the floating.
