Abstract

PURPOSE: To change running mode under stable condition by closing rapidly guide vanes when the opening of the guide vanes reaches set value or less or after the completion of depression of water level in a pump.
CONSTITUTION: When the opening of guide vanes reaches a set value or less, contacts 12a are closed to energize a relay 25, contacts 25a are closed to operate a solenoid relay 28 for a governor and guide vanes 12 are quickly closed. On the other hand, when water in a pump flow path is depressed to a predetermined level set at the lower end of an impeller 23 by high pressure air, contacts 24a, 27a are closed to close quickly the guide vanes 12. Thus, since the guide vanes 12 are quickly closed when the input value of the pump is reduced and has an approximately constant value, running mode can be changed over from pumping-up running to phase modifying running under a stable condition without giving any abrupt fluctuation of power to a power system.
