Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an error in digitizing data by detecting abnormal amplitude of data read out of a disk, and thus making an error check of a floppy disk device. CONSTITUTION:Data is read out by a magnetic head 1, amplified by a preamplifier 2, and applied to an LPF3 to remove high frequency noise components. The signal differentiated by a differentiating amplifier 4 is inputted to a comparing circuit 5, which performs comparing operation to a point where the level is set to zero by differentiation, thus digitizing the read data. A D/A converter 6 is connected to the differentiating amplifier in parallel, and the output voltage value of this converter is varied to move up and down the output waveform of the differentiating amplifier. A CPU calculates the amplitude of the output signal of the differentiating amplifier 4 to judge a defect of a disk.
