Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove a dynamic range lack of a circuit by removing a DC component by differentiating an output signal from a preamplifier and then executing AGC control so that signal amplitude can be fixed. CONSTITUTION:An output signal (b) from the preamplifier 202 goes to a waveform having no DC component as shown in a signal (c) and the signal (c) is fixedly driven by signal amplitude exceeding reference potential levels VREF1, VREF3 by an AGC amplifier 204 and an AGC feedback circuit 205. Since the waveform with the fixed amplitude is inputted to the succeeding zerocross point detecting circuit 209 and differential amplitude detecting circuit 208, malfunction is not generated in these circuits. Since respective circuits other than the preamplifier can be designed without considering the DC component specific in the optical signal, the dynamic range arrangement of the circuit can be easily executed.
