Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain desired and ideal pulse duration in the reproduction time, by detecting the pulse duration of an MFM modulated output with which an analog signal is digitized and then recorded and reproduced in the recording time and varying both the pulse duration and the amplitude in accordance with each pulse duration. CONSTITUTION:An input 1 expressed in NRZ is modulated by an MFM modulating circuit 71 and supplied to pulse duration detecting circuits 88-90. Thus the pulse duration is detected with periods T, 1.5T and 2T through the circuits 88, 89 and 90, respectively. A detection output of ''H'' level is obtained at an output 21 of an AND gate 82 among the detection outputs of pulse duration T. The output 21 is supplied to monostable multivibrators 73 and 74, and an output after correction by which the pulse duration T is contracted is obtained at an output 25. An output having more increased amplitude is obtained at an output 26, and the each pulse duration T, 1.5T and 2T plus an added output after correction of amplitude are obtained at an output 27 to be used as the input of a laser driving circuit. In such way, a correction is given to ensure a prescribed pulse duration in the reproduction time after carrying out the recording with a correction. As a result, an ideal reproduced waveform can be obtained.
