Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the noise with large amplitude at playback track switching, by limiting the playback track switching time point through the use of horizontal synchronizing signal of a playback video signal so that it is matched to a zero cross poin of periodic noise. CONSTITUTION:A playback signal picked up with a playback head 2 or 3 from a magnetic recording medium 1 passes through a preamplifier 5, and the playback track is switched at a playback track switching circuit 6. In this case, a pulse in which the zero cross point of periodical noise is in matching with the pulse rear ridge, is produced by taking the front ridge of a playback synchronizing signal 19 as the trigger input to a monostable multivibrator 13. Thus, only FM audio signal waveform is picked up at a BPF8 from the output signal of the circuit 6 and it is demodulated at an FM demodulator 9. Thus, the pulsive noise is prevented from being produced in playback track switching period, and the noise with large amplitude at playback track switching can be eliminated.
