Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a rolling resistance for preventing generation of TGC (generation of crack at the bottom of a groove) by making up a double layer tread of a base rubber having certain hardness and a cap tread rubber having certain hardness and thickness and by continuing the side part of the tread groove to the bottom thereof in the arc form. CONSTITUTION:A tread is made up of a base rubber 2 having a JIS hardness below 50 and a cap tread rubber 3 having hardness 10 or more higher than that of the base rubber and thickness over 0.9mm. from the bottom of the groove. Tread grooves 4 are formed in the middle of the tread within 70% of the width thereof. An area from the side walls 6 of the groove 4 to the groove bottom 7 is formed into an arc. The radius of the arc is set to >=1mm.. This constitution may scatter and moderate distortion at the boundary between the side walls 6 of the groove 4 and the bottom 7 thereof, preventing generation of crack and maintaining the rolling resistance at a high level.
