Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove the materials stuck on membrane surfaces by the physical cleaning effect of foam and to sterilize the membrane by ozone simultaneously by supplying ozone-contg. water as cleaning water to a membrane module.
CONSTITUTION: To clean a membrane module 12, a velve 8 is closed and a valve 9 is opened to supply industrial water from a water storage tank 10 into the module 12 by means of a high pressure pump 11. At this time, the ozone generated from an ozone generator 13 is injected into the water between the pump 11 and the module 12 by means of an injector or diffuser. The ozone- contg. water is supplied to the module 12. The position for the ozone injection is preferably near the membrane module. According to this method, ozone self- decomposes quickly in the water and makes the water pollution-free, thus eliminating the need for post-treatment of the waste liquid of the cleaning.
