Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a heating surface applicable to both of a heating surface for evaporation and a heating surface for condensation by treating an Al material with deionized water or distilled water and with a treating soln. contg. silica sol in succession.
CONSTITUTION: An Al material is treated with deionized water or distilled water at ordinary temp. or above and about 6Wabout 13pH to form a chemical film on the surface of the Al material. to the treating liq. may be added amines such as triethanolamine. The amines enhance the stability of the treating liq. and prevent the precipitation of metallic hydroxide. The Al material is then treated with an aqueous soln. contg. silica sol at ordinary temp. or above and about 2Wabout 11pH. by this treatment, the corrosion resistance of the heating surface and the stability of the film are enhanced.
