Abstract
PURPOSE:To exactly drive a composite pile by impaction without causing any damage to the pile by driving a composite pile, prepared by connecting each end of a steel pipe pile and a concrete pile, into the ground by striking the closed part of one end of the steel pipe pile by turning the other end side of the concrete pile downwardly. CONSTITUTION:A circular metal closing plate 7 is welded to one end of a steel pipe pile 6, and a metal cap 9 is attached to one end of a concrete pile 8 having the same diameter as that of the steel pipe pile 6. Both the piles 6 and 8 are connected with each other by welding the closing plate 7 to the cap 9. Also, one side of a triangled plate rib 10 is welded to the inside surface at one end of the steel pipe pile 6 with a proper spacing on the circumferential direction. When driving the composite pile, the steel pipe pile 6 is placed on the concrete pile 8 driven underground, and both the piles 8 and 6 are connected with each other by welding the closing plate 7 with the cap 9. In this case, the closing plate 7 is struck by a hammer 11 with a guide lever 12 and a pulling rope 13 to penetrate the composite pile into the ground.
