Abstract

PURPOSE: To drive a pile with a small percussion force efficiently by a method wherein a penetrating head fitted at the pile point is hammered and at the same time it is made to rotate by means of a hammer dropping in a pile to be driven into the ground.

CONSTITUTION: A pile 1 is errected on the ground and retaining this state, a hammer 3 within the pile 1 is hoisted together with a suspending lever 6 to a given height, and thereafter, the hammer 3 is released to rapidly drop downward. The hammer 3 dropping within the pile 1 hits a penetrating head 2 fitted at the point of the pile 1 and first, drives the penetrating head 2. If there exists a deflection in a position relation between a percussion part 3a of the point of the hammer 3, and a concave part 2g of the upper end of a guide part 2f or a concave groove 4a of a disk 4, then, a main body 2a is rotated to the right or to the left. With repetition of a hoisting and dropping operation of the hammer 3, the penetrating head 2 advances and is driven into the ground. And when this reaches a depth where this is not removed from the point of the pile 1, a previously adjusted coupling member 5 is stretched and a stopper 9 at the upper end of the hoisting lever 6 collides with a cover body 7 through an elastic body 8 along with the hammer 3 dropped, thus, pulling the pile 1 into the ground along the hole of the penetrating head 2.
