Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the bending strength of the upper part of PC pile by a method in which a PC pile is penetrated into the ground, the upper part of the pile is cut off at the level of footing floor, a reinforcing steel tube is fitted on the pile, and cement mortar is injected into the aperture between the steel tube and the pile. CONSTITUTION:An upper pile 1a having a great bending strength designed by the underground max. bending moment and a lower pile 1b having an ordinary bending strength are penetrated into the ground 2. The head portion of the pile 1a is cut off at the level of the footing bottom 4, and a reinforcing steel tube 5 whose lower end is welded with an annular plate 6 of an inside diameter equal to the outside diameter of the pile 1a and the upper end is radially welded with reinforcing bars 7 is fitted on the upper end of the pile 1a.
