Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a steel plate of superior wall breaking resistance free from work cracking by adding a specific amount of B to low carbon Al killed steel contg. specific ratios of C, Si, Mn, SolAl, N as basic components and coiling the same at specific temps. after hot rolling. CONSTITUTION:A low carbon Al killed steel consisting basically of <=0.10% C, <=0.10% Si, <=0.45% Mn, 0.005-0.080% SolAl, and <=0.008% N is prepd. 0.0010-0.0080% B is added to this, and the component balance of B, N, SolAl is so determined as to satisfy the formula. Thence, after hot rolling, it is coiled at low temps. below 600 deg.C. Thereby, the Al killed steel of improved in-face anisotropy is obtained inexpensively.
