Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit to repair cracks or the like simply so as to keep a good air- tightness by a method wherein an air discharging device is connected to one end of the heat transmitting tube while a metal vaporizing device is connected to the other end thereof respectively, and the vaporized metal is deposited to form a coating layer after the inside of the heat transmitting tube is evacuated. CONSTITUTION:Pickling or the like is effected to clean the inner surface of the heat transmitting tube 3 and, thereafter, the suction port 8 of the evacuating device 7 is attached to the opening at one end of the heat transmitting tube 3 in air-tight through a seal 9. On the other hand, a heater 11, plated with the metal to be deposited on the opening of the other end, is provided through a seal 12 and is connected to an electric source 13 through an electric wire 14. After the inside of the heat transmitting tube 3 is evacuated by the evacuating device 7, the vapor of the metal is generated and the vaporized metal is deposited on the inner surface of the heat transmitting tube 3 to form the coating layer (not shown in the diagram). According to this method, the cracks may be repaired so as to keep a good air-tightness.
