PURPOSE:To enable a photosensitive composition to be used in a simple manner for the black matrix of a color picture tube, by using a positive type water- soluble photosensitive composition containing a water-soluble aromatic diazonium salt, a water-soluble phenol derivative, and a specified copolymer of acrylamide. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble diazonium salt of 4-(dimethylamino)-benzenediazonium-chloride.zinc chloride, or the like, a water-soluble phenol derivative of hydroquinone, resorcinol, or the like, and >=1 kinds of either of diacetone acrylamide (DAA).acrylamide(AA).2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid copolymers and DAA.AA.methacrylic acid copolymers are incorporated to prepare a positive type water-soluble photosensitive composition. An aqueous solution of this composition is coated and dried, and the obtained film is brought into contact with gaseous ammonia or the like, dipped into an aqueous carbon black dispersion, immediately drawn up, washed with water without being dried, and then, dried, thus permitting the black matrix for use in a color picture tube, etc. to be fabricated easily.
