Abstract

PURPOSE:To survey the angle of the displacement of a body to be surveyed from a reference line invariably by providing a detector which has photoelectric converting elements for the four quadrants of an orthogonal coordinate system respectively, and a movable mirror which rotates corresponding to the amount of signals from the detector. CONSTITUTION:A detector 16 which has photoelectric converting elements 18 arranged for the four respective quadrants of an orthogonal coordinate system having an x-coordinate axis and an y-coordinate axis is installed at a reference point O1 on a reference line S1. On a reference line S1 between the detector 16 and a body 14 to be surveyed, a movable mirror 12 rotatable around a horizontal axial line and a vertical axial line is installed. When light emitted from the body to be surveyed strikes the respective photoelectric converting elements of the detector 16 through the movable mirror 12, output signals which correspond to the amounts of light are generated, and the movable mirror 12 rotates around the vertical and horizontal axial lines in accordance with differences in the quantity of a signal, thereby finding the value of the displacement angle of the body 14 from the rotational angle when the difference in the amount of the signal reaches zero.
