Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce an embedding material in a mold for precision casting which has small heat capacity and can reduce an incineration time by mixing a specific foamed plastic material with a specific embedding material. CONSTITUTION:Foamed polystyrene or foamed PE is mixed as a foamed plastic material at mixing rates of 5-50% vol. ratios with an embedding material consisting of phosphates, gypsum, ethyl silicate, quartz and the like. The foamed plastic material to be mixed is a spherical plastic material of 0.1-2mm. grain sizes. The foamed plastic material incinerates during the incineration stage of molds and forms cavities in said parts, thereby improving air permeability, reducing the rate of generation of cavities and preventing the breakdown of the molds on account of thermal expansion after the incineration of the molds. Since the amt. of the embedding material to be used is less than that in the prior art, the cost and the time for incineration are reduced.
