Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to control machining speed by detecting mechanical vibration during operation and by generating a speed correction signal in proportion to the intensity of vibration and by using the correction signal generated. CONSTITUTION:When a tool 101 reaches a point of contact with a workpiece 201, vibration is detected by an acceleration pick up 20. When a comparator 61 compares the vibration with a decision level signal S1 and a peak value hold signal exceeds the voltage level of the decision level signal S1, the comparator 61 outputs the signal to a control unit 70 and hence the control unit 70 controls cutting. Furtheremore, when the pickup 20 detects vibration, and the vibration exceeds the voltage level of decision level signals S2, S3, and S4, comparators 62, 63 and 64 output a speed control signal in proportion to the value which exceeds the voltage level. With this function, the comparator 61 judges whether the feed is under void cutting state or actual cutting state. The comparators 62, 63 and 64 monitor the magnitude of vibration level under actual cutting state and control a feed speed in accordance with a detected level.
