Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable accurate detection of fault, by comparing the rotation of a synchronous generator operated based on an output current, an output voltage and a field current of the synchronous generator with an actual rotation and detecting fault of the synchronous generator. CONSTITUTION:A vector adder/rectifier 8 carries out vector addition of output current I and output voltage V of a synchronous generator 1. A divider 9 divides an output EG from the vector adder 8 by a field current Ifg. When the difference between an operated rotation nG fed from the divider 9 and an actual rotation (n) exceeds over a predetermined value, a decision unit 12 outputs a fault signal of the synchronous generator 1. Consequently, fault can be detected accurately during load operation as well as during no-load operation.
