Abstract

PURPOSE:To also detect abnormality of cutting immediately after a main spindle motor is started, by discriminating between the change of a current, caused from a start or stop of the main spindle motor, and the change of a current, caused from abnormality of a tool. CONSTITUTION:In a rise-up (fall down) time calculator circuit 34, on the basis of a detected speed and stored machine proper value (output from a machine constant memory device 33), a rise-up and fall down time of an electric motor 1 is calculated, and whether a start or stop of the main spindle motor 1 is commanded or not is decided in a comparator circuit 35. In case of a decision of start stop, a start stop display circuit 36 is operated, and cutting abnormality is not detected in an abnormality detector circuit 37. In case of start stop not commanded, a differentiated signal of change in a main spindle motor current is fed, and occurrence of cutting abnormality is supervised in the abnormality detector circuit 37. In this way, the change of a current at start stop of the main spindle motor can be separated from the change of a current during cutting work.
