Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible always stable welding by performing pulse welding when welding speed is slow like at the starting or stopping of welding and performing welding by the specified smoothed current corresponding to the speed when the welding speed becomes faster.
CONSTITUTION: Upon starting of welding by placing the welding works on a carriage 2, an electric motor control circuit 5 runs an electric motor 3, but its speed does not reach the set speed immediately and is gradually accelerated at a fixed constant such as of the response speed of the motor and the inertia of the carriage. During this time, a speed detector 10 feeds the signal corresponding to the rotating speed, that is, welding speed, back to the electric motor control circuit and in the meantime, it outputs the same to a welding speed discriminating circuit 9 and electric power source circuit 6. The welding speed discriminating circuit compares the output signal of the speed detector and the output signal of a reference signal generator 8 and when the welding speed is slower than the reference value, it outputs pulse welding current to the electric power source circuit and when the speed reaches the reference speed, it outputs the ordinary welding current.
