Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve stability of combustion, by a method wherein a combustor having porous bodies each of which is made up of a molded inorganic material are piled up in layers at microscopic intervals and a hole of the porous body provided upstream is made smaller than that provided downstream is provided, and an intervention unit is provided upstream the combuster, in a spoung type burner. CONSTITUTION:A burner body 1 which is connected with a supply source of mixed gas with air adopts mainly an inorganic heat resisting material and is constituted by providing porous bodies 4 and 6 provided with a large number of small drilled holes 3 and 5 within a gas duct in layers. The above porous dodies 4 and 6 are held by keeping a miroscopic gap 7 between the two with a protrusion 4' provided at a proper location, and are formed so that an opening area of the upstream porous body 4 is made smaller than that of the downstream porous body 6 as well. Then, an exhaust chamber 13 for combustion is formed by both the burner body 1 and a holder 12 and installed on a holder receptacle 14, which secures an intervention unit 10 made up of an identical material with the porous bodies 4 and 6 to the holder 12 attachably and detachably at a regular interval 11.
