Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the length of a rocker arm to be shortened by splitting a cam into two halves and as well by disposing a rocker arm 2 in a gap therebetween through a clearance adjusting member. CONSTITUTION:A cam 4 is composed of two halves 4a, 4b defining a suitable gap 5 therebetween on a shaft 3, and a clearance adjusting member 6 is provided in a rocker arm 2 so that the clearance adjusting member 6 projects into the gap 5. Further, the rocker arm 2 is composed of one pair of left and right halves 2a, 2a which correspond to the two halves 4a, 4a of the cam 4 at the forward end of the rocker arm 2. With this arrangement, the rocker arm 2 is made in a relatively short length, thereby the valve cam gear may be relatively miniaturized.
