Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the working accuracy and productivity of a cam shaft with high wear resistance cam by perforating a hole at the center of the cam of ceramic and casting integrally a cast shaft through the hole. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft 1 consists of a cam 2 formed in three-dimensional shape cam, bearings 4, a spline shaft 5, a threaded hole 6 formed at a shaft 3. In this case, the cam 2 is formed by perforating a hole 2a at the center of ceramic, and a case shaft 3 is passed through the hole 2a of cast. A connector 2b is formed on the inner wall surface of the hole 2a, and engaged with the shaft 3 to thereby prevent the axial and circumferential movements of the cam 2. According to this, it can obtain the cam with high wear resistance and improve the working accuracy and productivity of the cam shaft.
