CONSTITUTION:Hydraulic pivots 36A, 36B are automatically adjusted so that they elongate depending on the backlash of an intake and an exhaust valves 43, 44 to make the clearance zero. Since rocker arms 35A, 35B are supported at their central parts by the pivots 36A, 36B, the rocking leverage can be made sufficiently large without increasing the length of the rocker arms. Since the hydraulic pivots 36A, 36B do not move as members of a valve moving mechanism, the inertial mass is not increased.
