Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain non-heat treated Al alloy for cutting work which has ability of cutting, by dispersing crystallized bodies in a substrate by casting Al alloy which contains specific amounts of Mn, Fe, Si, and Cu, and then performing heat uniforming, extrusion and drawing work.
CONSTITUTION: Al alloy which contains 0.3W1.8% Mn, 0.05W1% Fe, 0.05W 0.8% Si, and 0.05W0.4% Cu is cast by solution. This ingot is heated uniformly at 480W635°C for 1W24hr. Then, it is extruded at 320W520°C at a ≤80 extrusion ratio, and this extruded material is drawn at a ≤80% working rate. By this method, ≥1 kind of heat-untreated Al alloy for cutting work wherein Al6 (Mn, Fe) having ≥10μm2 sectional area and Al-Fe-Si crystallized bodies are dispersed uniformly by 300 pieces per 1mm3 is obtained. This Al alloy has enough ability of cutting for automatic cutting work and is suitable for car parts, and materials for the drum of a copying machine.
