Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent an accident such that the contents (data) being stored in an RAM disappear, by invariably monitoring the output voltage of a power source for RAM backup. CONSTITUTION:The negative input terminal of a comparing element (comparator) 26 is connected to a battery 20 through a relay contact 24A. To the positive input terminal, on the other hand, a resistance 27 and a Zener diode 28 are connected to set a necessary operating voltage nearly equal to an irreducible necessary voltage for the data holding of an RAM6, and the output side of the comparing element 26 is connected to the interface circuit 8 of a controller 2. Since a necessary operating voltage VREF is applied to the positive input terminal of the element 26, an output voltage VB is compared with the necessary operating voltage VREF. When the output voltage VB is lower than the voltage VREF, a battery voltage drop is displayed on a battery voltage drop display device 17 by the output signal of the element 26 and a relay 24 is turned off to charge the battery 20. Then, the display is disappeared when the battery 20 is charged sufficiently.
