Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a clutch which has a stable mechanism and is not influ- enced by load fluctuations by bringing both ends of coil spring into engagement with a pulley and a rotor to accomplish buffer coupling by magnetic induction of a stator and the rotor. CONSTITUTION:A spring clutch comprises a stator 3 with a coil winding fixed on a load machine 5, a rotor 11 magnetized by magnetic pole, a hub 7 secured to a load shaft 6, a pulley 2 and a coil spring 9, one end thereof being engaged with the rotor 11, the other end thereof being engaged with the pulley 2 to accompligh buffer coupling by magnetic induction of the stator 13 and the rotor 11. When the stator 13 is turned on electricity, magnetic induction is produced by revolving magnetic field of the rotor 11, so that force for reducing rotation of the rotor 11 works upon the rotor 11. Thus, difference in speed of revolution between the rotor and the pulley 2 is caused so that the hub 7 and the pulley 2 are coupled to rotate together by diameter-reduction clamping of the spring 9. Therefore, the clamping force of the spring 9 is determined by the rotational frequency of the outside power and the strength of magnetic induction not to be influenced by load fluctuations.
