Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehydrate sand collected from a raw liquid having sand mixed therin generated in a sand collecting plant or a sewage treating plant and to collect washed sand in good efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: A raw water throw-in chute 2 and a supernatant wate discharge port 3 are provided to one end wall of a rotary drum 1 and a discharge chute 4 is provided to the other end wall thereof and the drum 1 is divided into a precipitating and separating chamber 1' and a sand discharge chamber 1" by a ring like partition plate 5. A spiral blade 6 is provided to the inside of the aforementioned drum 1 in a protruded manner and a first scraper blade 7 comprising a water permeable material is arranged as well as a chute 8 transferring sand over the partition plate 5 is provided therein. The drum peripheral wall of the aforementioned chamber 1' is constituted by a ring 9 obtained by forming an elastic member into a ring like form and, to the inner periphery thereof, second scraping and discharging blades 10 are provided in a protruded manner and, to the part directly above the ring 9, a pressing mechanism 13 is provided and, to the part directly below said ring 9, a vibrator apparatus 11 is provided. The ring 9 is pressed by the pressing mechanism 13 to fall sand held between blades 10 and transferred to the ceiling part of said drum 1.
