Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to collect sand in good efficiency from a raw liquid having sand mixed therein generated in a sand collecting plant or a sewage treating plant as well as to improve the dehydrating and washing states of collected sand well.

CONSTITUTION: Raw water supplied to a throw-in port 19 is supplied into a precipitating and separating chamber 1' through a raw water throw-in chute 2. Precipitated sand is transferred to a first scraper blade 7 by a spiral blade 6. The transferred sand is further transferred to a ceiling part by the blade 7 and fallen onto a chute 8 to be supplied into a sand discharge chamber 1". The sand accumulated between second scraper blades 10 releases impurities adhered thereto by repeated shock from the lower bottom part of an elastic ring 9 and is converted to a compacted condition. Washing water is flowed into said chamber 1" from a pipe 16 and, because the height of a washing water layer is higher than the water level in the chamber 1', water in the washing water layer is flowed into the precipitating and separating chamber 1' to wash sand. The sand in a compacted condition is transferred to the ceiling part by blades 10 and fallen into a chute 4 by repeated shock and pressing force from a vibrator apparatus 11 to be discharged to the outside.
