Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the time of injection to optimum, by providing a unit for applying a feedback control instruction to an injection time changing means on the basis of the comparison between the actual injection time and a command therefor and by warning of the occurrence of an emergency. CONSTITUTION:A rotation sensor 12 is provided at the face of a hydraulic timer 4 coupled to a fuel injection pump 2. The mechanical governor 8 of the pump 2 is provided with a load sensor 13. An injection time sensor 15 is provided at the face of the pump 2. A temperature sensor 16 is provided on an engine 1. The outputs of the sensors 12, 13, 15, 16 are applied to a control unit 17 comprising a control means 19, a recorder 20 and a monitor 21. A spark advancement angle command determined by the means 19 and the recorder 20 and the actual spark advancement angle detected by the sensor 15 are compared with each other to perform feedback control. When the abnormality of the sensor 12 or the like is detected by the monitor 21 in which a signal for the timer 4 is temporarily stored, an instruction just before the detection is applied to the timer 4 and an alarm 23 is put into operation.
