Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the maximum fuel injection amount at the most suitable value by a method wherein various elements affecting the performance of an engine are inputted into a computer and thereby controlling the position of the maximum rotation of a control lever for a fuel injection pump. CONSTITUTION:An actuator 6 is equipped with a stopper member 6a controlling the position of the maximum rotation of the control lever 2 for the fuel injection pump 1 while a computer 7 is connected to the actuator 6. A plurality of sensors 8 detecting the various elements such as the temperature of cooling water, the acceleration of a vehicle, the speed of a car or the like which are affecting the performance of the engine and results detected by the sensers 8 are inputted into the computer 7 whereby the maximum fuel injection amount for the engine may be controlled automatically at the most suitable value.
