Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the subject device wherein the idle air quantity is supplied and controlled in correspondence to the driving condition of an engine by use of a microcomputer, thereby to improve the drivability of the engine and the exhaustion composition thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A bypass 10 communicating the upstream and downstream of the throttle valve 7 of a suction passageway 5 with each other is provided, and an air quantity control valve 11 is interposed in said bypass 10. Furthermore, the engine 1 is provided with a water temperature senser 25, a throttle valve switch 27 which is means for detecting the idling state of the engine, a neutral switch 28 and a car speed switch 29, signals from the above mentioned means being supplied as input to a computer 20. In the computer 20, a target rotational number corresponding to the engine temperature at the idling time, the actual rotational number is obtained on the basis of the target rotational number, the actual rotational number is comparison-operated with the target idling rotational number, and the above described air quantity control valve 11 is controlled so that the difference between both rotational number does not exist.
