Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an arrangement capable of reducing the time required for warming up engine, lowering fuel consumption and improving operational characteristics of engine, by changing an aimidling speed of engine in response to the extent to which the engine is warmed up and the time passed after starting of engine.
CONSTITUTION: In case that the idling speed of engine is lower than an aimed value corresponding to the comparison level determined by a functional voltage generating circuit of air control unit 60 when engine 10 is operated in its idling state with throttle valve 16 being opened, opening of air control valve 30 is controlled to increase. On the other hand, if the idling speed is higher than the aimed value, opening of the air control valve 30 is decreased. As the result, the rotational speed of engine 10 is kept at the aimed value determined by the functional voltage generating circuit of air control unit 60. Output of the functional voltage generating circuit is changed with time passed after starting of engine, so that the idling speed of engine is changed with the output of the functional voltage generating circuit.
