Abstract

PURPOSE:To save the fuel consumption by detecting the engine roughness during the idle rotation and lowering the rotation as much as possible while performing the feedback control such that it will be in the allowable variation range. CONSTITUTION:The engine roughness is detected through a vibration sensor fixed to the circumference of the engine or a rotation variation rate. An injection pump controller 4 will gradually lower the idle rotation during the idle rotation while continuously monitoring the detected engine roughness, and if the engine roughness will drop below the lower limit the lowering of the idle rotation is stopped to maintain said rotation. Under this state if the engine roughness will increase to exceed over the upper limit, the rotation is gradully increased and when approaching to the upper limit the increasing of the roation is stopped. When performing the feedback control such that the idle rotation is lowered to the point where the engine roughness is allowable, the fuel consumption can be saved.
