Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable an idling r.p.m. to stabilize as nearly as possible to a target idling r.p.m. by providing no dead zone until a r.p.m. detected value drops down across a target idling r.p.m., when a detected value of r.p.m. is more than a preset upper limit value of the dead zone.
CONSTITUTION: An idling r.p.m. control value 18 is interposed in a bypass passage 17 provided for turning around a throttle value 15 in an intake pipe 12. During an idle running time, a control valve 18 is controlled by an ECU 20 by a control amount corresponding to a deviation between a r.p.m. value detected by an engine r.p.m. sensor 31 and a target idling r.p.m. and an engine r.p.m. is controlled to be near target idling r.p.m.. But, when the r.p.m. detected value is within a preset dead zone, the control amount is arranged to make no. In this device, when the r.p.m. detected value is more than a preset upper limit value (less than a preset lower limit value) of the dead zone the dead zone is not provided until the r.p.m. detected value goes down (goes up) across the target idling r.p.m.
