Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the relatively-flat temperature characteristics of a resonance frequency approximately at the normal temperature by setting the size of an E type oscillator so that longitudinal length oscillation mode and out-surface flection oscillation mode are coupled mutually. CONSTITUTION:When the plate thickness size of the oscillating branches of a piezoelectric oscillator 11 formed in an E shape is (t) and its length size is (l), t/l is so set that oscillation occurs in the mixed oscilation mode of primary oscillation mode and out-surface flection quintic oscillation mode. Metallic thin- film electrodes 6 and 7 are stuck on the surfaces of the oscillating branches 1, 2 and 3 of the piezoelectric oscillator 11 by vapor deposition, and a metallic film 8 is stuck atop as an additional mass for frequency fine afjustment. Then, a voltage having a frequency equal to the resonance frequency of the oscillator 11 is applied between terminals 9 and 10 to allow the oscillator to oscillate.
