Abstract

PURPOSE:To thoroughly separate the water from the coal slurry by a method wherein the water in the coal slurry is separated by cycline separators and a screen equipped at the charging port of a coal bunker and furthermore a drain grating and a drain tank are arranged at the bottom of the bunker for allowing the water in the slurry to drain. CONSTITUTION:The cyclone separators 7 and 8 connected to a coal slurry supply pipe and the screen 6, which receives the coal slurry condensed by said cyclone separators 7 and 8 and further drains the water in the slurry and feeds coal portion in the slurry to the coal charging port 28, are equipped above the coal charging port 28 of the coal bunker 2 in the coal carrier 1. Furthermore, the filter grating for drainage 10 and the drain tank 5 situated below the grating 10 are provided at the bottom of the coal bunker 2 in order to further drain the small amount of water accompanied with the coal portion charged into the bunker 2 through the coal charging port 28. Because the separation of the water is performed in multistage, the thorough separation of the water in the coal slurry can be accomplished.
