Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize clogging trouble of inclined plates by segregating precipitating sludge in a sludge chamber so that load of sludge on the inclined plates can be minimized.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of oil and water overflowing a weir 47 flows into a sludge chamber 4b once where sludge which is easy to be segregated and precipitate goes down to the bottom here, and then the oil-water mixture flows further to pass inclined plates 51, and this time, fine sludge precipitates onto the inclined plates 51. The sludge thus precipitated onto the inclined plates 51 falls down to a sludge chamber 4b sliding along the inclined surfaces of the inclined plates 51. The sludge which fell down or precipitated to the sludge chamber 4b is, because of V-shaped inclined bottom of the sludge chamber 4b, gathered to the bottom of a sludge pump entry section. A sludge pump 52 is shifted to the right side or the left side by being guided by a rail 54, and the sludge is discharged to a trough 56 at outside of the tank by function of the sludge pump 52 and through a lift pipe 55.
