Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove dam rings from a kiln within a short time without stopping the operation of the kiln, by partially heating and cooling the produced dam rings in case that dam rings formed in a rotary kiln when industrial refuse is incinerated, are removed from the kiln. CONSTITUTION:When industrial refuse such as waste oil is loaded into a rotary kiln 3 from a hopper 1 and is burnt by a burner 4, the refuse incinerated is moved, gradually turning to the right side by the rotary movement of a rotary kiln 3, to be discharged from an outlet 6 fitted to a hood 5' on the discharge side. During this time, dam rings 9 are formed on a caster 8 of inside wall of a kiln 3, and they gradually grow up. When the dam rings 9 grow to some predetermined thickness, loading of material to the kiln is once stopped, to burn the dam rings 9 only until they are partially melted, with a light oil blowing into a kiln from a burner nozzle 10. Then, water is sprayed to produce crack to the dam rings 9 for collapsing, after they are cooled by cold air blown into through the burner 10.
