Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure electric insulation for the main body of a fault point orienting device, etc. and to eliminate malfunction, etc., by converting a fault surge voltage or a current into an optical signal and then transmitting the optical signal to a fault point orienting device from the side of a capacitor type voltage divider via an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:When a bus L has no fault and in the normal condition, voltage division is carried out for a driving power supply device E by means of a coupling capacitor C1 and a commerical AC power supply capacitor C2. The divided voltage is applied to an AC-DC converter via an insulated transformer T1 to be converted into a DC and then supplied to an electrooptic converter E/O through a surge absorbing capacitor C4. If a fault arises in the bus L, the fault surge is transmitted to a voltage dividing device CD and the converter E/O to be compensated and amplified through a driver DV with the output supplied from the device E used as a power supply. Then a light emitting diode LED1 is actuated. This optical signal is converted into an electric signal through an optical fiber LG and the converter O/E and then applied to the main body LC of a fault point orienting device. Thus the fault point is oriented.
