Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve combustibility of fuel, by drawing and compressing a part of intake air in an intake passage by means of a pump, ejecting the intake air at a high speed from nozzles disposed at a downstream part of the intake passage and in the vicinity of an intake port, and thereby promoting atomization of fuel ejected from a fuel injection valve. CONSTITUTION:An air jet 7 is formed in the wall of an intake pipe at a part thereof located at an intermediate part between a flap 1 of an air-flow meter and throttle valves 2 of a carburetor, and the suction side of a pump 6 driven by a motor or an engine associated therewith is connected to the air jet 7. Further, a nozzle 8 is disposed in the vicinity of a fuel injection valve 3 which is fixed to the intake pipe at the part located downstreams of the throttle valves 2, such that it is directed toward the injection port of the valve 3, and another nozzle 9 is disposed in the vicinity of an intake port which is opened and closed by an intake valve 10. These nozzles 8, 9 are connected to the discharge side of the pump 6. With such an arrangement, fuel ejected from the injection nozzle 3 is atomized into fine particles by high-speed air flow and strong turbulence is imparted to mixture in a combustion chamber 12. Therefore, it is enabled to burn mixture completely.
