Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a transparent glass composition with a low m.p. used as frit for enamel by blending an SiO2-base glass composition with specified additives.
CONSTITUTION: This glass composition has a comosition ≥98% of which except water is composed of, by mole, 56W63% SiO2, 3W10% B2O3, 5W10% TiO2+ ZrO2, 23W26% Na2O+Li2O and 3W7% fluoride as F2 while satisfying 1/3W3/1 molar ratio of TiO2/ZrO2, 2/3W4/1 molar ratio of Na2O/Li2O and the relation of Na2O≥B2O3+TiO2. Since the calcining temp. of this composition is as low as ≤700°C, even when the composition is applied to an iron sheet as frit for enamel, the iron sheet is not thermally deformed, and enamelware with high dimensional accuracy can be manufactured.
