Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an innoxious glass compsn. capable of being calcined on an iron sheet or the like at a low temp. by adding TiO2, etc. to base glass consisting of SiO2, etc.; adjusting the molar ratio of LiO2, Na2O and K2O in the resulting mother glass to a specified range; and substituting F for part of the oxygen in the glass.
CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. of base glass 99wt% or more of which except water consists of, by wt., SiO2 4.5W34%, B2O3 13.5W40%, Al2O3 17W42% and CaO+Na2O 15W40% are added SnO2, TiO2 and ZrO2 in an amt. satisfying equation I (where SnO2 0W15.5pts.wt., TiO2 0W23pts.wt. and ZrO2 0W20.5pts.wt.). BaO or the like is substd. for part of the CaO in the resulting mother glass, and LiO2 and K2O are substd. for part of the Na2O, adjusting the molecular ratio of them to the range bounded by a, b, c, d and e of equation II. Fluorine is substd. for oxygen in the compsn. in an amt. corresponding to 2W20mol to 100mol of the compsn. to obtain the desired glass compsn.
