Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the production of the stains, etc. of the conveying belt of an original feeder on copies by providing a detector which detects light transmittance in the prescribed position of the body of a copying machine, comparing and operating the detected value thereof and a reference value, and controlling respective control circuits with the resultant control signal. CONSTITUTION:An automatic original feeder B is constituted of a conveying belt 2, a driving roll 3 and a belt idler roll 4, and an original guide 3 is provided on the inlet (b) side. A light transmittance detector C for originals consisting of a light emitting element 6 and a photodetector 7 is provided to the guide 5. The light transmittance detected by this is compared and operated with the reference value stored beforehand in a control circuit, and various control circuits are controlled according to the preset modes by the resultant control signal, whereby the best value corresponding to the light transmittance of the original is obtained and the copy of beautiful image quality is obtained.
